Proof That The Experts Are Not Always Right – And What It Means For You

Don't-Ask-The-Experts-Shadow-Post Maybe you have some unmet goals?

Some dreams that seem to be fading?

Maybe the negativity of others is starting to get you down.

Has anyone told you it can’t be done?

It’s not possible they say.

There is no way you can____

And maybe on top of that you struggle with your own self-doubt too. I know I do at times. In fact when I started this blog I struggled for a while thinking why would anyone want to listen me? There are already so many motivational type blogs out there and mine would just get lost in the dust. But I wanted to start a blog that mattered. Even if only to a few small people.

I felt like I could do something for others that would make the internet a slightly better place. Today, I’m glad to say that I didn’t listen to the voice of doubt or the voice of the naysayers. I encourage you to do the same. Stop listening to the negative voices and start surrounding yourself with those that believe in what you are doing.

There’s an old Chinese Proverb that says,

Don’t Listen To Them

The fact is there will always be those that try to get in the way of your ambitions. You can count on it. I’m convinced that certain people secretly like to watch other’s fail. Maybe because it makes them feel better about themselves. Maybe they are just insecure. Or maybe they are just afraid of change? One thing is for sure is they have always been around and will always continue to be around. Take a look at some of these classic statements made throughout history.

The Experts Have Spoken

Everything that can be invented has been invented. Charles H. Duell, U.S. Patent Office director, 1899

Who the heck wants to hear actors talk? H.M. Warner, Warner Bros. Pictures, c. 1927

Sensible and responsible women do not want to vote. Grover Cleveland, 1905

There is no likelihood man can ever tap the power of the atom. Robert Millikan, Nobel prize winner in physics, 1923

Heavier than air flying machines are impossible. Lord Kelvin, president, Royal Society, c. 1895

Ruth (Babe Ruth) made a big mistake when he gave up pitching. Tris Speaker, 1927

The horse is here to stay, but the automobile is only a novelty. The Michigan banker who advised Henry Ford’s Lawyer not to invest in the new motor car company.

Gone With The Wind is going to be the biggest flop in Hollywood history. I’m just glad it’ll be Clark Gable who’s falling flat on his face and not me. Gary Cooper.

The Experts Are Obviously Not Always Right!

Remember that the next time you feel discourage because of other’s opinions or lack of support.

Learn to light your own fire.

Learn to believe in yourself.

Dare to dream

Take risks
