38 Amazing Images That Will Make You Appreciate Time

Appreciate Time

Life is our most precious commodity. But how we waste it away. Too much time thinking, worrying  and complaining.  Too little time doing. In fact, when you take out the time we spend sleeping, working and social networking, the days left over are fewer than you’d think. The average 20-year-old has less than 4,300 days left to really live. Crazy huh!?

Not long ago I came I came across a website of Irina Werning, a photographer who recreates old photos using the same people from the original. I could look at these types of photos all day. Some are truly amazing in the way the same expressions are captured.

For me, these images represent just how fast and short life really is.

I have included some of the pictures along with some inspirational quotes on the importance of time and living in the moment. I hope they inspire you to live on purpose and with no regrets…Carpe Diem!

“Know the true value of time; snatch, seize, and enjoy every moment of it. No idleness, no laziness, no procrastination: never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.”
– Lord Chesterfield

“Life is short, and it is up to you to make it sweet.”

“Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.”
— Earl Nightingale

“Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.”
— Carl Sandburg

“Time is our most valuable asset, yet we tend to waste it, kill it, and spend it rather than invest it.” — Jim Rohn

“The past cannot be regained, although we can learn from it; the future is not yet ours even though we must plan for it. Time is now. We have only today.”

— Charles Hummell, Writer

“They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.”
— Andy Warhol

“Wake up and live” – Bob Marley

“Now is the only time. How we relate to it creates the future. In other words, if we’re going to be more cheerful in the future, it’s because of our aspiration and exertion to be cheerful in the present. What we do accumulates; the future is the result of what we do right now.”
— Pema Chödrön, When Things Fall Apart

“Dwell not on the past. Use it to illustrate a point, then leave it behind. Nothing really matters except what you do now in this instant of time. From this moment onwards you can be an entirely different person, filled with love and understanding, ready with an outstretched hand, uplifted and positive in every thought and deed.”
— Eileen Caddy

“… It’s so easy to get caught up in doing and achieving that we often neglect to make time to be with the people we care about most.”

— Donna Smallin

“Look at everything as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time. Then your time on earth will be filled with glory.”
— Betty Smith (Novelist)

“It’s time to start living the life you’ve imagined.”

— Henry James (American Author)

“The most important moment in history for you is right now. What you do or don’t do, what you think, or don’t think, right now is the beginning of the rest of your life. This moment can be the beginning of a new you, taking you all the places you dreamed of, or it can be just another moment to be “killed” passing the time. Right now you are making history for sure, what kind of history it is, is up to you.”
— Edward W. Smith, Sixty Seconds To Success

“Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.”
— H. Jackson Brown

“Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that’s the stuff life is made of.”
— Benjamin Franklin

“Half our life is spent trying to find something to do with the time we have rushed through life trying to save.”

Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t
own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep
it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it
you can never get it back.” – Harvey MacKay

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs

Difficult times have helped me to understand better than before, how infinitely rich and beautiful life is in every way, and that so many things that one goes worrying about are of no importance whatsoever…”  – Isak Dinesen quotes
