10 Lifehacks for everyday life

1. Clean Your Grill With An Onion. It seems that rubbing a hot grill with half a cut onion (cut side down) will loosen up baked on grit and grime and basically take it all right off the grill. It’s best to heat the grill super hot first and burn down any remaining food or crud, then rub it hard with an onion stuck on the end of a fork.

2. Heat up your nature valley bar to prevent it from crumbling everywhere. Reddit user Poke_Red says: Open it over a trash can to get the crumbs already in the package. Place bar on a napkin or plate in microwave. I usually heat it up 10-30 seconds in the microwave*. Take it out, eat your WARM, CHEWY and CRUMB-FREE Nature Valley Bars.

3. Prevent the theft of your license plate registration sticker by cross slicing it. You can deter someone from stealing the registration sticker on your license plate by cross cutting it with a razor blade. If they try to pull it off, it will only come off in pieces. This trick will still work even if you’ve neglected to remove the old sticker.

4. Stir natural peanut butter easier. Leave the “natural” peanut butter jars upside down overnight before stirring them up. The oil will rise to the bottom of the jar making the stirring process much cleaner, easier, and more efficient.

5. Carry all your groceries inside with a laundry basket. Next time you head out to the store throw a laundry basket in your trunk to carry all the groceries back in the house in one trip.

6. Keep colors bright with pepper. That’s right…pepper. Don’t you just hate it when that favorite bright red shirt starts to fade after being washed too many times. Add a teaspoon of pepper to the wash load. Pepper keeps bright colors bright and prevents them from running too!

7. Get your tennis shoes looking white again with toothpaste. With spring in full bloom it’s time to crack out the walking shoes. Get them looking like new again with a little non-gel toothpaste and an old toothbrush. After scrubbing, clean off the toothpaste with a damp cloth.

8. Remove gum from your child’s hair with WD-40. Some have called it a parents worst nightmare. Don’t panic. Simply spray the gummed-up hair with WD-40, and the gum should comb out with ease. Just make sure you are in a well ventilated area.

9. Fight Cellulite by breathing better. Learn to take a deep breath from deep down in your diaphragm. Dr’s say the oxygen helps burn fat and also helps clean out toxic carbon dioxide from all your cells.

10. Fight a headache with a pencil. “Put a pencil between your teeth and pretend it’s a rose and don’t bite down on it. This forces your face muscles to relax. If that doesn’t work try using acupressure in 2 known spots to reduce pain.

  1. The web between the forefinger and thumb. Squeeze there until you feel pain.
  2. Under the bony ridges at the back of the neck. Use both thumbs to apply pressure.
