7 Tricks To Get Rid of Hiccups

Hiccups, we have all had them. We all know how annoying they can be.

They are nothing more than your diaphragm tightening involuntarily.

Here are 7 tricks to get your lungs and diaphragm back to their original cycle and stop the hiccups.

 

  1. Fill a glass with water, bend your head down, and take a long, slow sip from the back side of the glass
  2. Take a deep breath and hold it as long as you can. The buildup of carbon dioxide in your lungs relaxes the diaphragm.
  3. Hold a paper bag against your mouth and inhale and exhale in it. Same principle here. It causes a buildup of carbon dioxide.
  4. Take nine or ten quick sips in a row from a glass of water.
  5. Eat something shocking, like a slice of lemon or a teaspoon of vinegar.
  6. Eat a big teaspoon of peanut butter.
  7. Put a teaspoon of sugar or honey stirred in warm water on the back of your tongue and then swallow.

    To get rid of drinks, simply make a glass of water or squash, and drink non stop for 20 seconds. Works every time for me!
